Hardwood and treated softwood decks on ventilated sub-frames — natural warmth, built to stay solid underfoot.

Timber Decking project detail
Timber decking in Kent

Natural timber decks, built on a sub-frame that lasts

Real timber has a warmth composite can't quite match — the grain, the colour and the way it weathers. Built properly on a ventilated, well-drained sub-frame, a hardwood or treated softwood deck will serve you for decades.

We build level decks, raised decks with balustrades, split-level terraces and integrated steps and seating, all with hidden or countersunk fixings and a clean, splinter-free finish.

How we work

Our timber decking process

A simple, transparent four-step process — so you always know what's happening and when.

01

Levels & layout

We set the deck height against thresholds and lawn, and plan board direction and step positions.

02

Sub-frame

Posts and joists are set on concrete pads at correct centres, with airflow and drainage designed in.

03

Board laying

Boards are laid with consistent gaps and fixed cleanly, with crisp cuts around posts and edges.

04

Finish

Fascias, steps and balustrades are fitted, then the deck is sanded where needed and oiled.

Why choose EH Landscapes

Why homeowners pick us for timber decking

The sub-frame is everything

Correct joist centres and ventilation are why our decks stay solid and don't sag or rot early.

Timber chosen for the job

Balau, ipe or treated softwood — we advise honestly on cost, grip and how each weathers.

Safe underfoot

Grooved or textured boards and correctly spaced gaps keep decks grippy through Kent winters.

Detailing that lasts

Countersunk stainless fixings, capped ends and proper fascias — no rusty screws or raw edges.
